Letters Temporary were issued to Sigma Lodge of Perfection on November 15, 1922 to establish a DeMolay Chapter in Schenectady, NY.
The Charter, or Letters of Perpetual Constitution were presented to establish St. Andrews Chapter Order of DeMolay on March 7th, 1923.
This Charter was signed by Dad Frank S. Land (Grand Scribe) and Alexander G. Cochran (Grand Master Councilor) at St. Louis, Missouri on September 24th, 1923.
St. Andrews was the 500th Chapter to be chartered internationally.
St. Andrews was the fourth Chapter to be chartered in New York state.
St. Andrews was however the 2nd oldest chapter in the State in age of Letters Temporary. (NY Chapter is the oldest)
St. Andrews Chapter is known to be the longest continuously operating Chapter in New York to date.
The first class of Initiates, numbering 59 were given both the Initiatory and DeMolay Degrees on January 29th, 1923.
The first Master Councilor elected to serve for St. Andrews Chapter was: Francis Brandt and the 1st Advisory Council Chairman was: Percy C. Ashley.
St. Andrews Chapter Order of DeMolay received its formal patent from DeMolay International on the 7th of March 1923.
St. Andrews Chapter has had the continued support and sponsorship of the Sigma Lodge of Perfection A.A.S.R.N.J (Ancient and Accepted order of the Scottish - Rite of the Northern Jurisdiction) of the United States of America since its inception in 1923.
St. Andrews Chapter was founded in Schenectady, New York in March of 1923 and remained there until it was moved to Amsterdam, NY in 1996.
