St. Andrews rakes in the dough in December!

December saw St. Andrews participating in two major fundraisers of the year; Bob's Trees and Home Interiors. The total sales for these fundraisers produced a profit for the chapter of around $700.00, which will help to subsidize the cost of State and Division events.

St Andrews helps with the Hudson Valley Division Conclave

December 8th - 10th, 2006

The weekend of the 8th, 9th, and 10th was filled with sports, Brotherhood, and ritual. The Hudson Valley Division Conclave went off with only a few minor bumps along the way. At this event 3 out of the 5 Chapters in the Division were represented; Orange-Rockland Central, St. Andrews, & Uncle Sam. Two new brothers were brought into the order at this event as well; one from St. Andrews and one from Uncle Sam. Overall the weekend was enjoyable; with Guitar Hero into the wee hours of the morning, plenty of food, and brotherhood galore.

St. Andrews holds its Frank S. Land observance & an open house

November 2nd, 2006

On the 2nd of November 2006 the Master Councilor of St. Andrews Chapter; Bro. Marc Wiley presented the Ceremony of Light to DeMolays, Parents, and prospective members. This ceremony was part of the Frank S. Land observance day necessary for the PMC-MSA. The ceremony and the evening went well with 6 prospective members in attendance that evening. After the formalities in the Lodge room everyone enjoyed pizza and soda downstairs. A good time was had by all, Go St. Andrews!!

St. Andrews helps out Franklin D. Roosevelt and Empire with their Installations

October 15th & 16th, 2006

Numerous members of St. Andrews traveled to FDR Chapter for their first official Installation of Officers and filled half of the chairs for the Installation. Numerous Masonic dignitaries, parents, and friends were in attendance to witness this historic event. FDR distributed for the first time numerous Merit Bars, "Each one, Reach one" medallions, and various other awards. The day ended with excellent food for all and a restful ride back to Amsterdam.

Several members of St. Andrews also went the next night to Empire Chapter for their Installation of Officers at their new home at the Delmar Masonic Lodge. Empire had a good turn-out for the Installation and a dozen officers were Installed with half of the Installation chairs once again filled by our members. The evening closed with ice-cream and heated discussions on the way home.

St. Andrews Chapter has its Installation of Officers

October 21st, 2006

On Saturday October 21st, 2006 St. Andrews Chapter held one of its two Installations of Officers per year. The ceremony was performed by several of the PMC's of St. Andrews, as well as a few current and past State Officers. For the Winter Term 2006-2007 the Master Councilor will be; Marc Wiley. Bro. Wiley has a very ambitious term plan and hopes to attain the PMC-MSA. This is the second time that Bro. Wiley has been elected Master Councilor. His experience bodes well for the Chapter to continue its recent string of success. He hopes to bring in as many as 12 new members to the Chapter over the next six months.

St. Andrews helps Kennyetto Lodge, No. 599 celebrate its 207th anniversary & the NY Grand Lodge's 225th

September 27th, 2006

On Wednesday September 27th, 2006 members of St. Andrews Chapter performed a ceremony of Light prior to the presentation of American flags to local community service organizations. The ceremony went well and those in attendance were impressed with the content as well as the delivery of the ceremony. As always after the conclusion of the festivities we all adjourned downstairs for cake, juice, and other treats. Overall the evening was successful and hopefully this will provide those unfamiliar with our organization with a positive impression.

Legion of Honor Investiture a success in Amsterdam

September 23rd, 2006

 On Saturday afternoon Advisors and DeMolays from all over New York gathered to pay tribute to a few of the numerous advisors who make DeMolay possible. Those honored on the 23rd were as follows: David Barnes, William Clizbe (Chapter Dad), & James Simpson (Chapter Advisor). The members of the Investiture team were numerous and also held a multitude of honors from DeMolay International. Also in attendance were the State Master Councilor and State Executive Officer of NY DeMolay, Brother Nathaniel Liberty and Dad Keith Rung respectively. The ceremony was moving to the numerous parents, DeMolays, and advisors in attendance and of course was followed by refreshments, which were delicious as always!
